Director of Occupational Health and Workers Compensation, Human Resources, Full-Time, Days

 
We are looking for a Director of Occupational Health and Workers Compensation to join our Human Resources team in Albuquerque, NM. 

  This Full-Time Job is located at   Lovelace Shared Services:     Organizational support departments for all Lovelace facilities including Coding, Finance, Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle, Marketing, and the Resource Team.  We are dedicated to exceeding our customers’ expectations in every way   .   

    Director of Occupational Health and Workers Compensation Responsibilities:
 

  • Manages the daily operations of occupational health and worker’s compensation function for the division. Conducts ongoing assessment of policies and practices for implementation of standardized programs for improved efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Responsible for claims management of worker’s compensation and leave cases between providers and interested parties.  
  • Coordinates the functions of health assessments on existing employees, assisting with the coordination of disability leave, managing the immunization program, assisting with annual TB testing
  •   Directs and manages the nursing components of the occupational medicine program and assists in marketing the program and developing protocols. 
  •   Ensures the appropriate documentation, recording, and reporting of all work-related illnesses and injuries for employees.  
  •   Works as a partner in hospital and clinic employee wellness and safety programs. 

  Director of Occupational Health and Workers Compensation Education and Experiences Job Requirements:

  • Minimum:  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Occupational health administration and worker’s compensation administration.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to establish cooperative work relationships; ability to follow oral and written instructions while maintaining accuracy and consistency; planning and organizational skills. Attention to detail with analytical and reasoning skills. Knowledge of occupational health and worker’s comp regulations and processes.
  • Minimum: Three (3) years of previous job-related experience.

  •   Desired:  5 years of previous job-related experience preferred.

  • BLS; Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire),
  • Certification in Occupational Health Medicine preferred.
