Clinical Research Coordinator, New Mexico Heart Institute, Full-Time job, Days, Albuquerque, NM

  We are looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our Research Team in Albuquerque, NM.

  This full-time job is located at New Mexico Heart Institute, the largest private cardiology practice in the state serving patients in 25 different New Mexican communities, with care delivered in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. NMHI practices state-of-the-art medicine by employing the latest cardiovascular imaging and fully integrated interventional, cardio-thoracic, and vascular surgical approaches. The Institute’s services, a number of which are conducted in conjunction with the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, located next door, address a full-range of preventive, diagnostic, treatment, surgical, and rehabilitation needs.

  Clinical Research Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage investigational research studies, including, but not limited to, participating in patient care through direct visits, patient education, receiving and placing patient telephone calls, development of documents applicable to individual studies, provide testing and following research and NMHI clinical procedures and complying with FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice guidelines as well as departmental SOPs. 
  • Collaborate with NMHI providers, clinical staff, appropriate hospital staff, as well as pharmaceutical and device representatives to enhance the delivery of research furtherance. 
  • Gather pertinent study info & perform all necessary study-related functions at each study visit
  • Schedule future study visits for enrolled patients and continue with patient care throughout the study, including protocol compliance as well as identifying additional problems/concerns and discussing such with appropriate providers/managers.
  • Draw Labs, take vitals and conduct ECGs; IV and injection experience a plus
  •   Communicate all pertinent information in a timely manner to the Research Department Director (or other managerial staff), Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, Sponsor Representatives and Institutional Review Boards as needed and directed .
     

Clinical Research Coordinator Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Clinical Research Certification (CCRC) with a recognized clinical trial organization; ACRP, SOCRA
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a CRC position with a recognized research/health-care facility (preferred) If not certified, must be able to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain throughout employment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and willingness to take direction
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Tenacity with a tremendous attention to detail
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong communication skills
