  We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Team in Albuquerque, NM.

  This full-time job is located at New Mexico Heart Institute, the largest private cardiology practice in the state serving patients in 25 different New Mexican communities, with care delivered in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. NMHI practices state-of-the-art medicine by employing the latest cardiovascular imaging and fully integrated interventional, cardio-thoracic, and vascular surgical approaches. The Institute’s services, a number of which are conducted in conjunction with the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, located next door, address a full-range of preventive, diagnostic, treatment, surgical, and rehabilitation needs.

  Certified Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs clinical and administrative duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care within assigned area.
  • The MA demonstrates knowledge of medical practice and patient care as it relates to the clinical setting and medical specialty.
  • May be required to provide emergent coverage at Heart Hospital when needed during work hours.

Certified Medical Assistant Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

    OR

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and proof of current membership from National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

    OR

  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT)

    OR

  • Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution and ability to obtain registration/certification from one of the above certifying bodies within 30 days of hire.

  • Computer and keyboarding skills; Positive communication skills.

  • Desired: One (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant in healthcare setting

  • Current BLS
