Lovelace Women’s Hospital is hiring a Tumor Registrar.

The Tumor Registrar is responsible for the maintenance of the computerized database and daily functions of the LSHS Tumor Registry in collaboration with the New Mexico Tumor Registry and other cancer registries. 

  • Responds to all requests for data or   information from LSHS Cancer Committee, NM Tumor Registry Staff, and other   registries within one week of request.
  • Selects cases for review, then   coordinates and attends weekly Tumor Board Meetings.
  • Achieves abstraction of data on all   registry cases, prepares and executes transmission of data to NM Tumor   Registry and actively participates in the preparation and presentation of   the data for the annual report. 
  • Collaborates with NMTR database staff   on technical and system related questions.
  • Performs case finding daily on   pathology and cytology reports and monthly patient discharge diagnosis   reports.


  • Minimum education:  HighSchool Diploma or GED.
  • Desired education: Associate’s Degree in allied health of businessrelated field.
  • One (1) year of previous job-related experience.
  • Certified Tumor Registrar required.
