  We are looking for a Treadmill Technician to join our Imaging Team in Albuquerque, NM.
  This full-time job is located at New Mexico Heart Institute, the largest private cardiology practice in the state serving patients in 25 different New Mexican communities, with care delivered in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. NMHI practices state-of-the-art medicine by employing the latest cardiovascular imaging and fully integrated interventional, cardio-thoracic, and vascular surgical approaches. The Institute‚Äôs services, a number of which are conducted in conjunction with the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, located next door, address a full-range of preventive, diagnostic, treatment, surgical, and rehabilitation needs.

  Treadmill Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performance of diagnostic Cardiac Treadmill Testing, assist with Stress Echocardiogram Testing, EKGs, Holter Monitor, and Event Monitors. 
  • Provide written technical impression to assist cardiologist with interpretation thereof
  • Escort patients from waiting area to exam room where test will be performed, communicate with patients during testing and ensure comfort, review patient’s chart, and coordinate same day add-on procedures.
  •   Perform appropriate equipment preventative maintenance. 
  •   Encourage active patient participation during appointments; report questions and concerns to physicians. 

Treadmill Technician Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
  • Intravenous (IV) Certification required
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician License preferred
  • Experience in Arrhythmia interpretations and Cardiology required
  • Knowledge of Treadmills, Holter monitors, Event monitors, EECP, EKGs and Arrhythmias and Medical Assisting
  • Experience working with diverse populations with limited understanding of insurance or healthcare processes and procedures
  • Data collection, problem solving, and decision-making skills required
  • Must possess strong organizational, time management, detail and communication skills; the ability to prioritize projects and work in a fast paced, frequently crisis driven environment
  • Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and typing;
  • Must be able to provide complicated information in a clear and concise manner to those not familiar with the information being provide
  • Bilingual preferred
