House Supervisor, RN - LOVELACE REGIONAL HOSPITAL - Roswell

Summary of Job Duties:

Provides coordination of hospital admissions and services between Doctor Access Line (DAL), hospital units, emergency department, and outside entities as required.  Coordinates, oversees and maintains the daily personnel activities of the hospital during assigned scheduled shifts to ensure staffing resources are appropriate for the needs of the patients.  Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Must be willing to flow into ICU and ED.

Essential Functions:

1.    1.Provides coordination and leadership of hospital admission between physicians, access line (DAL), hospital units, emergency department, and outside entities.

2.    Coordinates, oversees and maintains hospital operations to ensure staffing and resources are appropriate for the needs of the patients.

3.    Ensures all hospital regulatory requirements are met during activities including but not limited to: patient safety, patient rights, donor procurement, and morgue management.

4.    Effectively communicates activity with hospital directors and staff regarding sentinel events

5.    Serves as a clinic liaison and resource to hospital departments and staff to facilitate communication, problem solving, decision making, crisis intervention and other communication needs.

6.    Takes ownership of assignments, special projects, pilot programs; other duties as assigned or requested.

7.    Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.

8.    Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.

9.    Meets Budget (Operating & Capital) for assigned areas.

10.  Mentors, coaches, develop subordinates to accomplish goals.

11.  Develops policies, processes, strategies and goals that support Department/Corporation direction.

Education:Minimum:  Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing

Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Technical/Formal Training

Coursework in management, Human relations and problem solving.


Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to deal calmly, courteously and efficiently with people and deal with stressful situations; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to work on own or as an effective team member.


Minimum: Two (2) years as a Staff Nurse of which one (1) year must have been in a management capacity.

Desired: Experience in an acute care setting and Hospital Charge nurse preferred.


Valid NM RN License or valid multi-state compact license and BLS; HIRING DEPARTMENT MAY ALSO REQUIRE ACLS and or PALS
