Lovelace Westside Hospital is hiring a Stroke Coordinator.

  Coordinates, develops and implements the LWSH Stroke Program. 

  Collaborates with ED, stroke team, physicians and all clinicians throughout the continuum of care to assess and analyze outcome data and promote quality stroke outcomes. 

  Facilitates nursing and ancillary department education regarding stroke.

  Assists with education at community level including but not limited to external hospitals, EMS and referring physicians.

  Works with medical staff on stroke order set and protocol development within hospital.

  Acts as the management representative for DNV Primary Stroke Center certification with responsibility for ensuring the requirements of the stroke management system are implemented and maintained at LWSH.


  Minimum Bachelors Degree in Nursing or to be currently enrolled in a BSN program.

  To obtain SCRN within 18 months of hire date. To maintain NIHSS certification during term of employment.

  Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality; Management skills; strong organization and problem solving skills; works well in a team setting; communicates effectively both orally and in writing.

  Five (5) years relevant experience of which three (3) years must have been in ER, ICU, or a dedicated NEURO unit.  Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted in accordance to policy.

  Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire),BLS and ACLS
