  We are looking for a Security Officer to join our Security team in Roswell, NM.

  This Full-Time job is located at Lovelace Regional Hospital, which provides 24/7 emergency services, intensive care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, surgical services and birthing services for Roswell and the surrounding community. Lovelace’s presence in Roswell also includes a primary and specialty care clinic to allow us to better serve the residents of southeast New Mexico.

  Security Officer job Responsibilities:

  • Provides personal, equipment, and property security for assigned area to include but not limited to patrolling and examining assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle. 
  •   Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. 
  • Informs and warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
  •   Provides information, directions, and escort service as needed. 
  •   Reports areas of concerns and emergencies, such as safety and security hazards; contacts appropriate authorities giving descriptive information. 

Security Officer Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Hospital environment experience desired
  • BLS Certification desired
  • Valid NM driver’s license on your person, no DUI/DWI within the last five years, required to drive a Lovelace owned vehicle
  • Must possess a current State of New Mexico Guard Card level II or obtain within 6 months of hire
  •   Completed security guard training though an approved agency Level I and II or obtain within 6 months of hire
  •   Will be certified in taser, baton and handcuffing
  •   Training in de-escalation and patient immobilization  
  •   Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing  
  •   Ability to deal with stressful and emergency situations  
  •   Ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures  
  •   Ability to work independently  
  •   Required to wear Body Armor, taser, baton, and handcuff associated gear while on duty
