We are looking for a Process Improvement Engineer to join our Quality Management team in Albuqueruqe, NM

This full-time job is located at     Lovelace Medical Center, in the heart of Albuquerque, is an acute care hospital providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, cardiology, stroke care, radiology and oncology services, including the state’s only Gamma Knife Center for non-invasive radiologic brain surgery.

Process Improvement Engineer Responsibilities:
 

  • In support with the Quality Director, this position is responsible for providing the strategic and tactical planning and deployment of process improvement methodology and tools (LEAN, Six Sigma, PDA, etc.) for the hospital. 

  • Serve as system-wide expert, coach, mentor, and instructor to achieve hospital wide improvements on eliminating inefficiencies, decreasing waste and generating cost savings.

  • As a master teacher, the position will provide expert advice and coaching on process improvement tools and methodologies to senior leadership, process owners, and other process improvement professionals in diagnosing gaps and identifying solutions.

  • In a team environment, this position will lead process improvement teams while supporting the work of other improvement teams throughout the organization. 
     

  Process Improvement Engineer Education and Experience job Requirements:
 

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience working in a dedicated process improvement capacity.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading formal improvement projects.

Licensure: SME Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification or similar certification preferred
 

Demonstrated ability to provide overall Lean and Six Sigma direction at both a strategic and tactical level and shown success in program development. Must have the ability to guide others in use of improvement tools and concepts of process improvement.

Knowledge of healthcare economics and the ability quantify the financial benefits of Lean Six Sigma methodology.

  Must be able to demonstrate clinical and financial measurement, ability to influence and persuade senior leaders and have high analytical skills. 

Requires detailed knowledge of deployment, organizational processes and team development.

This knowledge base includes:  Hospital-wide deployment including the value of Lean and Six Sigma for the organization, business processes and systems, leadership and change management. 

Organizational Process Management and Measures including business performance and financial measures, use of benchmarking and the impact of L6S on stakeholders.
