Paramedic- Emergency Room, PRN job, Variable Hours, Roswell, NM
 
We are looking for a Paramedic to join our Emergency Room Department in Roswell, NM.
 
 
This PRN job is located at   Lovelace Regional Hospital provides 24/7 emergency services, intensive care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, surgical services and birthing services for Roswell and the surrounding community. Lovelace’s presence in Roswell also includes a primary and specialty care clinic to allow us to better serve the residents of southeast New Mexico. 
 
Paramedic Job Responsibilities: 

  • Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician, provides direct care to patients needing emergency medical treatment. 
  • Provide assistance in maintaining supplies and providing high quality patient-centered to care to our patients. 
  • Work under the supervision and direction of the physician and within the scope of the NM Licensed Paramedic Practice Act.
  •   Help to resuscitate patients in an emergency before hospital admission .
  •   Provide medical assistance during emergency situations, such as CPR, AED, prevent shock, control severe bleeding, prevent spinal damage, etc. 
  •   Evaluate a patient’s condition to determine the right placement for the patient in the Emergency Department .

Paramedic Education and Experience Job Requirements:
 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • EMT- Paramedic licensure
  • National Registry preferred
  • NIHSS Certification
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through American Heart Association
  • Two (2) years experience required
  • One (1) year ED Hospital experience preferred, Combination of hospital experience and experience as a paramedic may be used to meet the experience requirement.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication
  •   C omputer Experience  
  • A bility to relate well with all levels of the facility and medical staff
  •   Ability to care for patients of all nationalities and age groups
  •   Must be dependable, responsible, and interested in assisting with quality emergency patient care
