  Lovelace Medical Center , in the heart of Albuquerque, is an acute care hospital providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, cardiology, stroke care, radiology and oncology services, including the state’s only Gamma Knife Center for non-invasive radiologic brain surgery.

  Lovelace Medical Center is now hiring a PRN  Materials Coordinator for the OR

  • Provides supply management for OR/Specialty area through maintaining, monitoring and adjusting physician preference inventory areas, processing requisitions, tracking/expediting of orders, and managing new product requests and conversions.
  • Assists with the research and implementation of opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce cost. Evaluates and adjusts par levels for cost effective par. Manages expired and obsolete inventory.
  • Regularly maintains and updates order guides, organizes store rooms and updates labeling systems to ensure efficient ordering and inventory processes.
  • Processes consignment and bill-only requisitions accurately and timely including contract verification. Effectively works with vendors on unauthorized supplies, documentation issues and/or revised pricing; works with purchasing and corporate for item add/activations and contract issues.

  • Education:Minimum: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Desired: Post-secondary education
  • Computer Literacy, to include MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel); Inventory management computer system experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, excellent, communication and problem solving skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and tasks.
  • Two (2) years of related experience of which one (1) year must have been in Materials Management or Clinical Area.
  PRN means “as needed.” This type of work schedule is common in allied health and medical professions. Although working PRN shares similarities with working part time, PRN positions differ in that the schedule changes and a certain number of hours aren’t guaranteed per week.  Along with working as scheduled, employees who are hired into PRN positions may be expected to cover unexpected absences as needed by the hospital.  Since hospitals are a 24/7 operation, we are seeking candidates who are willing to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
