Our goal at Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital is to return people recovering from illness or injury to the highest quality of life possible. We provide a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient care including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language and pathology, rehabilitation nursing and case management services. Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital is now hiring a Full Time Inpatient Occupational Therapist.

  • Responsible for organizing and conducting medically prescribed occupational therapy treatment to individuals with developmental, physical, cognitive and/or emotional impairments, disabilities and/or handicaps to assist in reaching optimal function within their physical limitations.
  • Performs occupational therapy assessment procedures utilizing techniques consistent with the patient’s diagnosis and develops individualized treatment plan based on evaluation findings.
  • Provides detailed and concise documentation of evaluation, treatment, interim reports, and discharge evaluations within departmental timelines and provides all necessary documentation required for on-going patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education required: Bachelor’s of Science Degree in occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Desired education: Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Licensure or licensure eligible in Occupational Therapy in State of NM
  • No minimum directly related experience required but one (1) year related experience is desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, finish tasks in a timely manner, follow oral and written instruction, and follow established procedures.
  • CPR required.
